The Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation was established in 2012.

After the Government withdrew funding for the School Sport Partnership programme nationally our local stakeholders knew that the ability to provide a meaningful legacy to the Olympic Games for young people in Tower Hamlets would be irretrievably damaged if a similar organisation did not exist.

So THYSF’s number one Olympic legacy aim is our own establishment and growth. As a host borough for the 2012 Olympic Games, we are also eager to oversee other lasting changes to the local sporting landscape.

These changes are based on equality, internationalism and sport’s role in personal and social development – all personified by the Olympic spirit.
